Write to Santa Claus - Una Gligorijević

Una Gligorijević, Drawing of a girl in a festive atmosphere at home

The Post of Serbia announced the winners of the “Write to Santa Claus” contest, and by the decision of the expert jury, the first prize in the individual competition was won by Una Gligorijevic, an eight-year-old from Vlasotince - for drawing a girl in a festive atmosphere at home, in a combined tempera and felt-tip pen technique. Her drawing stood out with a wealth of colors and details, as well as elements of ornament and comics.

The second place went to eight-year-old Stefan Dimić from Ugljar, Kosovo and Metohija, who had only one request for Santa Claus - to cheer up all the children, which he told him with inspired and sincere verses of his poem:

The year was difficult,
Though not by our fault;
We’ve been really sweet,
And have earned our gifts.

The collage of Ljubica Savić, a ten-year-old from Užice, with the presentation of a group of Santa Clauses, who descend from the hill to the city to fulfill children's wishes, won the third prize.

In the group competition, the first prize was won by the children of the preschool group “Lasta” from Golubac - who turned the holiday into magic, through the display of a glass ball with playful snowflakes and New Year's motifs. The second place went to the creative book of Ladybug’s story about Santa Claus with 22 illustrated stories authored by the II-3 class of the Elementary School “20. oktobar” from Vrbas. The third prize was won by the students of IV-2 class of the Elementary School “Majka Jugovića” from Zemun, with pencil drawings that they wittily imagined and through which they presented the professions of the future with vibrant and bright colours, such as sky cleaner, lightning tamer, sea wave hairdresser, etc.

The eighteenth award-winning literary and art competition “Write to Santa Claus” lasted from November 1 to December 5, 2020, with the participation of over 7,000 children under the age of 10 from all over Serbia. With this competition, the Post of Serbia encourages children's creativity, communication and nurturing the culture of writing and literacy.

In accordance with the epidemiological situation, instead of the traditional exhibition and the award ceremony, the winners received their prizes at their home addresses, and all other participants were sent appreciation letters.

In the cold winter days and difficult working conditions, throughout the entire Serbia, postmen and couriers worked diligently and selflessly so that all the winners could receive their Santa's awards and appreciation letters on time.
