Software made for private healthcare integration into ePrescription system

Acting Director of PE Post of Serbia, Zoran Đorđević, and State Secretary in the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Serbia, Mirsad Đerlek, announced today the inclusion of private healthcare institutions in the system of electronic prescriptions (ePrescription) through the electronic support platform for the private sector developed by the Post of Serbia.

This will enable the integration of private healthcare practice with the health information system of the Republic of Serbia and create the technical conditions for doctors in private sector to issue electronic prescriptions instead of paper ones in the same way as in state healthcare institutions.

“The Post of Serbia is a company with the most developed IT infrastructure in the country, and with the help of our experts, we have been intensively developing that potential for the benefit of all citizens in the last two years. Along with the digitalization of postal services, we have also developed a number of solutions that, through integration with state institutions, enabled modern eServices for citizens and businesses, such as the issuance of digital green certificates, automatic generation of orders for the payment of administrative fees to the Ministry of the Interior of Serbia, data archiving, eNotary services and Post’s latest software solution, which provides the same benefits to citizens who are treated in private healthcare institutions regarding the issuance of ePrescriptions as have patients in state healthcare institutions. The following step will enable patients to receive medicines at their home address”, said Zoran Đorđević, Acting Director of PE Post of Serbia.

The process of establishing an electronic platform to support the private healthcare sector will begin after obtaining the appropriate approvals from the competent authorities.
