Marking the International Day of the Blind
The International Day of the Blind - October 15, also known as the Day of the White Cane, was celebrated by the Association of the Blind of Serbia at the "Dr Milan Budimir" Library for the Blind in Belgrade.
With the desire to once again draw attention to the biggest problems and obstacles that the blind and visually impaired face in their daily lives, the call for joint action was repeated to emphasize and affirm their possibilities, knowledge and creativity. Zoran Đorđević, Acting Director of the Post of Serbia, attended the central event.
The goal is to continuously adapt operations, services, information and communication technologies, customer system and infrastructure at the Post of Serbia, but also to provide additional training for employees to work with sensitive categories of the population, in order to make our services as accessible and affordable as possible, within a wider support to the national platform for improving the position of people with disabilities in our society, Director Đorđević emphasized on this occasion.
