Postage stamps for the jubilee of Serbia and Iran

The Post of Serbia and the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Belgrade officially presented today the issue of commemorative postage stamps published by the Post of Serbia in honour of the jubilee - 85 years of diplomatic relations between Serbia and Iran.

At the event held in the PTT museum, H.E. Rashid Hassan Pour, Ambassador of Iran in Serbia, and Zoran Đorđević, Acting Director of the Post of Serbia, spoke about the beginnings, the development of good relations and cooperation, and the influence of joint cultural projects on the rapprochement of countries and peoples.

"Iran's approach to relations with Serbia is long-term and of a strategic nature. There is no unresolved matter in our relations and no reason for them not to develop further", said Ambassador Hassan Pour. As just one of the aspects of the developed political, economic, cultural and sports cooperation between the two countries, Ambassador Hasan Pour expressed satisfaction with the signing of the agreement on cooperation between the Posts of Serbia and Iran, within which the issue of a joint postage stamp is also planned.

"Good and solid cooperation and relations between our countries have great potential for further growth, both in the field of economy and trade exchange, as well as in culture, education and numerous other areas. The jubilee, along with the beginning of a new rise in our relations, is being marked in an appropriate and symbolic manner, with a philatelic project of the Post and the Embassy of Iran in Belgrade, which recognizes and appreciates the noble mission of philately and the influence it has on cultural exchange and cooperation, closer connection and further development of our relations.", said Zoran Đorđević. Congratulating the jubilee, Đorđević presented Ambassador Hassan Pour with a copy of the issue of commemorative postage stamps.

The commemorative postage stamps in the block, issue entitled "85 years of diplomatic relations between Serbia and Iran" show the mausoleums - the Monument to the Unknown Hero at Avala by Ivan Meštrović, and the Tomb of Cyrus the Great in Pasargadae, Iran. The artistic realization of the issue, which includes both the first-day cover and the commemorative stamp, is the work of Miroslav Nikolić, the creator of stamps for the Post Serbia. Professional cooperation in the realization of the publication was provided by the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Belgrade.
