Đorđević presented clear measures to resolve the situation at the Post

Today, November 2, a press conference was held regarding the situation at the Post of Serbia, i.e. the workers' protest that took place in the previous days.

- We have a protest, specific in that there are no responsible parties, we have trade unions that support but do not participate, as well as trade unions that do not even support the protests.. We have worked a lot on the image of the Post of Serbia, and things like these certainly harm us - said the Acting Director of the Post of Serbia, Zoran Đorđević.

He added that 14,100 people depend on the work of the Post, as well as their families, and that he already had several meetings with the unions.

- We have been paying earnings from profit for three years in a row, we have health insurance for all employees, and we continuously raise salaries - said Đorđević today, and presented a series of measures that will come into effect next week.

  Proposed measures to resolve the problem

  1. Reorganization and analysis of regions and norms and employment of people, at least for a certain period of time (technicians, mailpersons, drivers).
  2. Creation of a new price list and new services, of which there will be three:
  • collection in the post office;
  • collection from parcel machines and
  • delivery to home address.

For the last option, if the norm is met, the delivery person will receive a cash reward, i.e. the net salary will be up to 40 percent higher. This service will be considered luxurious.

This means, for example, that a delivery person in Belgrade who fulfills the norm (say, 90 postal items per day) will have a salary of 75,000 dinars, instead of 55,000 dinars as is the case now. Therefore, 55,000 dinars is the basic salary plus performance.

Đorđević further stated that the larger salary increase goes to workers in technology, and the smaller increase goes to the administration and lower management. However, the trade unions will have to declare whether they agree with all of the above.

  1. Health care remains a priority.

Đorđević also mentioned that everyone who worked until now, during the protest, must be rewarded, as well as that the unions have the task of calling the workers to return to work as soon as possible.

- The most unpopular measure is dismissal. I do not want to do that, it is our last option. We want everyone to be satisfied. I will not ask for a rebalancing of the budget - stated Đorđević.

Next week, he says, is the signing of the contract with DHL, and he announces a salary increase "immediately", starting next week.
