Exhibition "Wonderful PTT World of Zoran Marković" opened
On Wednesday, December 27, 2023, the thematic exhibition "The Wonderful PTT World of Zoran Marković" opened in the PTT Museum.
With the wholehearted help of the family of the late Zoran Marković, as well as the assignment of two decades of effort and the collected fund in the apartment-museum (the first private PTT museum in our country), we have the opportunity to present to the public various exhibits and author's works of our colleague Zoran Marković (signboards, postcards, horns, induction telephone, as well as mail art pieces).
Zoran Marković is the recently deceased manager of the Post of Serbia, who worked for more than 20 years in the Office for technological process auditing of the Enterprise and thus visited all of its facilities, down to the smallest post office. During his work, he came across a variety of old postal material for manipulation. Recognizing the importance of these items, which bear the stamp of history, and are no longer used and were decaying, he felt regret knowing they might be pushed into the dustbin and oblivion. He restored the collected items related to the work of the Post, which were damaged, to their original condition. As a great lover of the Post, its work, importance and history, he also spread his ideas to his surroundings as a missionary, and passionately collected segments of PTT history as silent witnesses of the existence of an institution that has been connecting people for centuries.
This exhibition represents the beginning of a collaboration, the crown of which will be the creation of a legacy and the exhibited museum pieces of Zoran Marković as part of the permanent exhibition of the PTT Museum in Belgrade.
