Surcharge postage stamp "ROOF 2024" in sale from today in all post offices

Today at the PTT Museum in Belgrade, the promotion of the Surcharge Postage Stamp "ROOF 2024" was held, which will be printed again this year in a circulation of 1,500,000 copies with the aim of helping the most vulnerable families of refugees and internally displaced persons with housing by purchasing rural households.

The Commissioner for Refugees and Migration of the Republic of Serbia, Nataša Stanisavljević, pointed out that this humanitarian action has been carried out since 2010 and that so far 125 rural households have been purchased from the funds collected through the sale of postage stamps and the same number of vulnerable families have been cared for and received a roof over their heads, thanks to these funds, and called on all those interested to help the most vulnerable families by purchasing additional postage stamps "ROOF 2024".

‚‚With the aim of providing support in solving the housing needs of the most vulnerable families of refugees and internally displaced persons in 2024, i.e. residence in local self-government units that are not able to solve the problem of their permanent care, the Commissariat proposed issuing surcharge postage stamps "ROOF 2024" in the period from April 15 to April 28, 2024 in a circulation of 1,500,000 copies, in denominations of 10 dinars. With the funds obtained from the sale of surcharge postage stamps, it is planned to purchase up to seven rural households to take care of the most vulnerable families of refugees and internally displaced persons," said Commissioner Stanisavljević.

The director of the Post of Serbia, Zoran Đorđević, emphasized that the Post of Serbia strongly supports this humanitarian action of the Government of Serbia and the Commissariat, and expressed his gratitude to all citizens who contributed to it from 2010 until today.

‚‚Housing care for the most vulnerable families is of vital importance for building sustainable and just societies and communities. The initiative that provides hope and security to those who need it the most is symbolically depicted in the design solution of the Post of Serbia, which we believe will appeal to everyone. We invite all our citizens to show solidarity this time and by sending at least one postal item in the period from April 15 to 28, contribute to the successful realization of another cycle", said Zoran Đorđević, Director of the Post of Serbia.

After the promotion, Commissioner Stanisavljević and Director Đorđević used the first "ROOF 2024" postage stamp on a postcard that they symbolically sent to a refugee family that solved their housing issue thanks to this humanitarian action, and then visited the PTT Museum.
