Labour Day Greeting from Director Anđelković
On the occasion of Labour Day, Zoran Anđelković, Acting Director of the Post of Serbia, sent a congratulatory message to the employees and citizens of Serbia.
"Labour Day is a significant date for our collective and community. In addition to reminding us of the achievements and scope of labour solidarity and the fight for workers' rights, it is an important opportunity to look back on what we have done so far and the goals that lie ahead."
By introducing the latest technologies, digital services, robots, and parcel lockers, the Post of Serbia has laid the foundations for future development and made significant progress in the modernization of its operations. We have invested a lot of effort in robotizing the five largest postal and logistics centres. We have achieved good business results and new strategic partnerships, managed to cope with a 50 percent growth in postal items generated by e- commerce in the past year compared to the previous one, and we have established an efficient and flexible system for a new growth in the number of postal items and express postal items. At the same time, we have invested a lot of effort and preserved the quality and satisfaction of our customers.
As we record new successes, make plans and prepare for electronic delivery, in accordance with the new law on postal services, I would like to highlight the role of our employees. I am grateful for the contribution of each individual and our entire team as the most important prerequisite for the success of our company. Postmen, delivery people, counter workers, employees in processing, professional services, administration, are professional, hardworking and dedicated workers who are adorned with a strong collective spirit, good and fresh ideas and loyalty to the company.
Therefore, it is important to emphasize, especially on this occasion, that we remain committed to the constant improvement of our business and the position of our employees, creating better working conditions and providing equal opportunities for their professional development. We will continue to affirm and work on adequate valuation, recognition and acknowledgement of the responsible postal profession and vocation. Employee satisfaction, development and progress, equal opportunities for career development are our obligation, priority and guarantee of the progress of our company.
I am confident that the Post of Serbia will very soon stand shoulder to shoulder with the best postal administrations in Europe. As before, it will significantly contribute to the development of our state, economy and trade. On this path, where much work still awaits us, we will continue to build better conditions and a future for postal workers. On behalf of the Post of Serbia and on my own behalf, I heartily congratulate you on the International Labour Day, 1 May”, said Director Zoran Anđelković in his congratulatory message.
