New Electric Mopeds for Postmen Across the Country
The Post of Serbia has received 216 new electric mopeds intended for the delivery of all types of postal items, primarily in rural areas. This is the largest number of electric delivery vehicles Post of Serbia has secured to date. Zoran Anđelković, acting director of Post of Serbia, handed over the keys to postmen and directors of work and regional units at the Regional Postal and Logistic Center "Belgrade" in Zemun, where he discussed their impressions, service provision, and plans.
Director Anđelković stated that the orientation of Post of Serbia is towards sustainable mobility and that investments in this area will increase significantly in the coming years, aiming for a complete transition to green vehicles and green energy. He pointed out that 100 new electric cars are expected by the end of the year, and an additional more than 200 new electric vehicles by March of next year. He also announced that chargers for these vehicles will be installed in front of post office branches and will be available for citizens as well.
"We also want solar panels wherever possible, and I expect that in the next three years we will be able to provide the complete energy for charging electric vehicles from our own sources," said Anđelković.
Anđelković also spoke about the role of the Post of Serbia in implementing the new Law on Registration and Entry of Rights to Immovable Property, where its goal is to assist in this important state project of great interest to citizens, initiated by the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić.
"Starting on 8th December, citizens will have 586 post offices across Serbia at their disposal, where we want to contribute to making the procedure for the registration and entry of rights to immovable property more accessible to citizens," concluded Director Anđelković.
The new electric mopeds will reinforce the delivery fleet in Belgrade and in work and regional units throughout the country. Electric mopeds enable more efficient delivery of shipments, cost savings, better working conditions for employees, do not emit harmful gases or noise, and can cover greater distances with lower energy consumption compared to internal combustion engines.
