Director of Pošta Srbije on a working visit to Varvarin and Kruševac
Focus on technological development, digitalization and improvement of working conditions for employees
Director of Pošta Srbije, Zoran Anđelković, paid a working visit to the municipality of Varvarin and the city of Kruševac, where he discussed with representatives of the local self-government and employees the further development of postal services, technological advancement and improvement of working conditions.
During his visit to Varvarin, Director Anđelković first held a meeting with the President of the Municipality, Violeta Lutovac Đurđević, PhD after which they toured the Post Office in Varvarin and the Post Office in Obrež. In the conversation with the employees, special attention was paid to improving the quality of services, modernizing business processes, and everyday working challenges.
Continuing his visit, the Director of Pošta Srbije also visited the Main Post Office in Kruševac, where he discussed with employees modern technological solutions and processes for the processing of postal items. During the entire visit, the Director was accompanied by the Assistant Director of the Regional Working Unit in the Areal Unit of the Higher Rank, Dragi Marković.
Speaking about the strategic priorities of Pošta Srbije, Director Zoran Anđelković emphasized that the company ended the previous year with exceptional success, thus creating a stable foundation for further investments and development.
"Successful results allow us to further improve the position of employees and the quality of services for citizens this year. Our focus is strongly directed at technological development - Pošta Srbije is the first Post not only in the region, but also beyond, to introduce a robotic sorting system for postal items, which significantly accelerated the parcel delivery process", emphasized Anđelković.
He recalled that last year, robotic sorting systems were installed in five logistics centres – Belgrade, Niš, Kragujevac, Novi Sad and Kraljevo – for which Pošta Srbije was awarded international recognition from the PostEurop association for the best innovation. He also particularly highlighted the development of the network of parcel lockers, including the one installed in Varvarin, which allows citizens to collect postal items outside the counter's working hours.
"Our goal is to make Pošta Srbije available to citizens when it is most convenient for them. The Government of the Republic of Serbia has approved the price list for eDelivery, and in 2026, our most important task is the digitalization and electronic delivery of bills to Serbian citizens, in cooperation with eGovernment, and in accordance with the Law on Postal Services", said Director Anđelković.
He added that, in addition to digitalization, the priorities of Pošta Srbije are further modernization of the vehicle fleet and the rearrangement of business premises throughout Serbia.
The President of the Municipality of Varvarin, Violeta Lutovac Đurđević, PhD assessed that the visit of the Director of Pošta Srbije is a confirmation of the successful cooperation between the local self-government and this company.
"Funds have been provided for the renovation of the entire facade of the Post Office building in the centre of Varvarin, which is of great importance for both employees and citizens of our municipality. I thank the Director of Pošta Srbije for the allocated funds and time, because such visits enable direct communication and a joint assessment of the needs of employees and customers", said Lutovac Đurđević.
She emphasized that improving working conditions and the quality of postal services is a common goal of the local self-government and Pošta Srbije, in the interest of all citizens of the municipality of Varvarin.
