International Philatelic Exhibition "Postal History of Serbia and Slovenia"
The exhibition "Postal History of Serbia and Slovenia" was presented at the Museum of Post and Telecommunications in Polhov Gradec as part of the event "Serbia in Slovenia 2026". The exhibition was organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in the Republic of Slovenia, the Slovenian Philatelic Association and the Post of Slovenia in cooperation with the Union of Philatelists of Serbia and Pošta Srbije.
As a result of good cooperation and mutual exchange, the exhibition provides visitors with the opportunity to expand their knowledge in the domain of philately as part of cultural heritage and gain valuable insights into the social and historical context in which the exhibits were created.
Until March 23, visitors can see selected collections of leading philatelists from the two countries, including collections and exhibits awarded at international philatelic exhibitions. Exhibits by Predrag Antić, Aleksandar Boričić, Andro Alujevič, Bojan Kranjc and Janez Cerkvenik are on display. Among the exhibitors are the presidents of the philatelic associations of Serbia and Slovenia, Vladimir Milić and Bojan Bračič.
On the occasion of the opening of the exhibition, representatives of the PTT Museum of Pošta Srbije visited their colleagues in Slovenia and highlighted the joint issue of commemorative postage stamps of Serbia and Slovenia in June this year as a new opportunity to continue close cooperation and strengthen mutual ties.
The event "Serbia in Slovenia 2026" also included the installation of an open-air exhibition in the centre of Ljubljana, which will be open until the end of March, entitled "Personalities from Shared History: Serbia and Slovenia" by Aleksandar Gatalica, Counsellor at the Embassy of Serbia in Ljubljana.
