Charity postage stamp ROOF 2026 released for sale – Pošta Srbije takes part
Director of Pošta Srbije, Zoran Anđelković, the State Secretary at the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Serbia, Saša Stevanović, and the Commissioner for Refugees and Migration of the Republic of Serbia, Nataša Stanisavljević, today marked the release of the charity postage stamp “ROOF 2026” at the PTT Museum. The new campaign to support housing care for the most vulnerable families of refugees and internally displaced persons, “ROOF 2026”, runs from April 6 to 19.
Director Zoran Anđelković said that the “ROOF” charity stamp stands out in importance due to its humanitarian character, where each individual purchase or postal item sent helps the most vulnerable families of refugees and displaced persons. Underlining the importance of humanitarian and solidarity actions, Anđelković expressed gratitude to the participants who contributed to it in previous years and called on businesses and citizens to help this time as well.
“Personally and as the Director of Pošta Srbije, I would like to say that we are happy to support such actions. In addition to the funds raised from this action, I promise that Pošta Srbije will finance one house for one vulnerable family, for which we will sign a contract with the Commissariat”, said Zoran Anđelković.
State Secretary Saša Stevanović said that the Ministry of Finance supports the activities of the Commissariat and actions that solve life issues, change lives for the better and increase the quality of life, and that the same has been done for more than 130 families through the “ROOF” programme alone.
“This is the essence and one of the main goals and motives that this Government has in its work, and that is to increase the standard of living”, said Stevanović.
Commissioner Nataša Stanisavljević pointed out that the humanitarian campaign “ROOF” has been implemented since 2010 and that the funds raised through the sale of charity postage stamps have so far provided care for 133 vulnerable families who, thanks to these funds, have gained a roof over their heads.
“We call on all good people, all companies, everyone who wishes to help, to buy the “ROOF 2026” postage stamp, to send letters, congratulate the upcoming holidays and thus do a humanitarian deed. The funds received from the sale of this charity postage stamp are intended for the purchase of rural houses with gardens for refugees and displaced persons”, said Commissioner Stanisavljević.
Stanisavljević explained that the stamp was printed in a circulation of 1.5 million copies, with a value of 10 RSD, and that it is expected that up to seven rural houses will be provided in this way. The Commissioner thanked Director Anđelković for the announced donation.
The event was attended by the Bilbija family from Bačka Topola, who, as part of one of the previous “ROOF” programme cycles, resolved their housing issue and received a new home.
