New robotic postal center in Subotica

A modern business facility in the industrial zone of Subotica at 14g Čantavirski Put Street now houses the 24200 Subotica postal and logistics center. At the opening of the center, Acting Director of the Post of Serbia Zoran Anđelković emphasized that this modern, robotically supported center will enable a larger volume of postal services and faster delivery, including Post Express and logistics services.

The guests were welcomed by Tatjana Andrić, Director of the "Subotica, Zrenjanin, Sombor, Kikinda" Regional Working Unit, who expressed her satisfaction with the relocation of the center to a new and more suitable space for both business operations and employees. Andrić stated that the postal center in Subotica will continue to develop logistics services in line with the needs of economic growth and the rising e-commerce market.

The Minister in the caretaker Government, Demo Beriša, congratulated Director Anđelković and the employees on the new postal center, describing it as a project of great importance and proof that operations can be carried out both better and faster. "Subotica is the first point of contact from Europe for all goods and mail entering the Republic of Serbia," Beriša stated. In order to connect the north and the south, he expressed his hope that the Post of Serbia would establish an equally modern center in Preševo.

Director Anđelković emphasized that investments in postal infrastructure and processes are continuous, and he announced new postal centers in Kruševac, Zaječar, and Vranje. He pointed out that the robotization project implemented in five postal centers—Belgrade, Novi Sad, Niš, Kragujevac, and Kraljevo — over the past year, will expand to include Subotica and other regional centers. Beyond improving the sorting process, this expansion carries a broader significance for providing other services, such as PostTis and parcel delivery to 1,000 of the Post's parcel lockers. He also announced the implementation of the "Mobile Postman" project by March of next year, which will provide postmen and couriers with better and shorter routes, as well as enable invoice collection upon delivery to users.

"We are continuing the infrastructure and technological modernization of centers in local and regional zones across Serbia here in Subotica, as this is our long-term development commitment, given our strategic role as a reliable partner to the economy and citizens. Thanks to this valuable investment, business and private users will not only receive better postal services and employees better working conditions, but this center will also become a key hub for processing shipments for the area of multiple cities and districts covered by the regional working unit headquartered in Subotica," Anđelković said.

Within the postal complex in Subotica, spanning an area of 2,300 square meters, there are a modern transshipment and sorting center, warehouse facilities for traditional postal technology, storage and maintenance of transport vehicles, offices for professional services at the working unit headquarters, and the Post Express courier service of the 24116 Subotica post office.

"The Post of Serbia is an institution with a 186-year tradition, which throughout its history has always followed technological development and adapted to the needs of citizens and the economy. Today, it continues this development by implementing robotization and modern technologies in its logistics centers. The opening of the robotic postal and logistics center in Subotica is yet another concrete example of how technology can improve efficiency, accelerate shipment processing, and simultaneously ease the workload of employees. This is the path through which Serbia continues to build a modern and digitally advanced infrastructure," emphasized Dr. Mihailo Jovanović, Director of the Office for IT and eGovernment, in his congratulatory message on the occasion of the new center's opening.

On this occasion, Director Zoran Anđelković presented a certificate of appreciation for contributing to the company's operations, reputation, and image to Nenad Ivankov, a courier at the 24116 Subotica post office and one of the most successful Post Express couriers within the Post of Serbia.
