Modern Centre in Leskovac and "Quads" for Delivery Presented on World Post Day

The Post of Serbia celebrated the World Post Day by putting into operation a modern postal facility in Leskovac and presenting the first 10 quads for delivery on inaccessible terrains.

Within the postal complex in Leskovac, on an area of almost 2.400 m2, there is a modern transshipment and sorting centre, a counter hall and offices of professional services. The modern facility, in which the Post of Serbia has invested over half a million euros, will enable a larger and faster realization of postal services on the territory of the Jablanica district, including the Post Express and logistics services. It will also contribute to the improvement of working conditions of employees, but also to the quality of life in the center of Leskovac, from which processing capacities have been moved to the new postal facility.

"By technical and technological modernization of its centres in local and regional zones throughout Serbia, the Post of Serbia, which celebrates 180 years of its existence, confirms its long-term commitment to development and strategic role as a reliable partner of the economy and citizens." This is confirmed by the constant modernization of its transport fleet, which as of today is richer by 10 specialized delivery vehicles - quads for inaccessible terrains ", says Mira Petrović, Acting Director of the Post of Serbia.

Quads will enable faster and safer delivery of all types of shipments in areas with underdeveloped road infrastructure, especially on roads without an asphalt surface, as well as in environments where delivery is difficult due to weather conditions. These vehicles will deliver postal items in the regions of Surdulica, Kuršumlija Spa, Vlas, Sokobanja, Vrnjačka Banja, Rudno, Banja Koviljača, Zlatibor, Mitrovica on Tara and Mokra Gora, thus increasing the availability of the service and at the same time facilitating the work of suppliers in hard-to-reach areas.

9 October, World Postal Day, all national postal administrations celebrate on the day the World Postal Union was founded in Bern in 1874. The Principality of Serbia was among the 22 founding countries at the founding congress.
