Post of Serbia and Telekom decorate Saint Mark’s church plateau
Acting director of PE Post of Serbia Zoran Djordjević and Director-General of Telekom Vladimir Lučić met in the Patriarchate with the Serbian Patriarch, Mr. Porfirije, with whom they discussed the future cooperation of these two companies with the Serbian Orthodox Church.
At the meeting, it was underlined that the PE Post of Serbia and Telekom stand by the Serbian Orthodox Church and that, as our two largest companies, they want to further improve that cooperation. As a first step, full support was given to the project of arranging the plateau in front of the Church of St. Mark in Belgrade.
"Our wish is to decorate the Saint Mark’s plateau together with our Church. That plateau would get a completely new look, which would make our citizens proud. The project will be carried out by the city of Belgrade, on the basis of the request of the Serbian Orthodox Church, while the Post of Serbia and Telekom would finance the project. That would be our gift to the city, our church and citizens" - said the Acting Director of the PE Post of Serbia Zoran Djordjević.
PE Post of Serbia and Telekom, as national companies and business partners, will jointly develop socially responsible initiatives aimed at raising the quality of life of both our employees and all citizens of Serbia. Cooperation with the Serbian Orthodox Church represents the first step in the joint engagement of these two companies in the realisation of projects that will benefit the entire social community," said Vladimir Lučić, Director-General of Telekom.
It is planned that the new project transforms the plateau in front of the Church of St. Mark into a pedestrian zone.
