Letterpost item with printed material or printed matter item is an open letterpost item that contains books, newspapers, magazines, and other printed material that is not of personal correspondence nature. These are printed in numerous identical copies on paper, cardboard, or other material.

Printed matter item can also contain bills, purchase orders, dispatch notes, payment orders, magnetic media, CDs, etc. relating to the content of the item and making its integral part.

Mass of printed matter items for international postal traffic may also be up to 5 kg providing that the postal operator of the destination country accepts items of that mass.

Printed matter item size corresponds to that of a letter: the sum of length, width, and height – up to 90 cm, whereby the largest of the three dimensions can be up to 60 cm. The minimum size is 9 x 14 cm.

Postal items must not contain: dangerous and harmful substances, objects whose transfer threatens the health and life of humans and other postal items, narcotics, except when the recipient and the sender are authorized by law to traffic in drugs; live animals, except animals whose transport is regulated by specific terms for the provision of postal services, and other goods and object whose transfer is prohibited by law and other regulations.
